Introducing my favourite design to date– Paper Bag Envelopes with Antique Map Prints! These beautiful envelopes are made from repurposed paper grocery bags, and then antique maps are printed on them. I handcut and put together each one, with lots of attention to detail, to bring you these absolutely one-of-a-kind snail mailing wonders! Check out the photos below to see how I decorated mine for a friend, and be sure to sign up for emails to be the first to know when this product launches!
What do you think? Are you excited! Put in your two cents below!
And welcome to another Music Monday! Sorry I missed last week…I’ve been really busy lately–and I’m busy right now too unfortunately, so I don’t have time to write a super long blog post… But today I’m sharing my cover of the beautiful Scottish tune ‘Loch Lomond’ with you. I hope you like it!
What do you think? I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments!
I just wanted to let you know– if you are following my blog, as a thank you, I’m giving you 20% off any purchase at my shop over $8! Just message me before you make your purchase (just scroll down the listing to see my message button☺️), and I’ll apply the discount for you. Also, even if you don’t want to make a purchase yet, I’d just love to know what you think of The Nightingale Shop!
Welcome to Music Monday! This Monday, I’m going to share my very first completed choral work with you– Prayer During Battle. It is for a SATB choir plus boy soprano(s), violin, cello, and double bass, with solo violin and cello. I’ve had some really great feedback on it so far, and I’d be honoured to hear yours!
(Sorry you can’t play the video within the post– I couldn’t get it to embed.🙄)
Sorry. I won’t make it a habit to “advertise” my new business on my blog, but I just made my favourite set yet and I simply can’t resist showing you! So please tell me what you think of it in the comments too.😁
So…many of you have noticed that over the past several weeks, I keep darkly hinting a mysterious “surprise”. So I have. 😉 Well, after weeks of planning, it’s finally here!! Can you guess what it is?
I started my own business!
Yep! And I’m so stinkin’ excited about it!!!! It’s is a handmade envelope business, and “the proceeds” are going to help me save up for my dream trip to Scotland. My church is going in May of next year and I want to go so much!!! I still have family over there that I’ve never met! So this business is just to help me a little with my dreams.😁
So here below are my very first products! Right now I am using the Mercari marketplace, but when I make $12 from the envelopes I’m selling there (Lord willing), I’m going to purchase a domain and build my own website for them as well. I will probably also branch out to eBay eventually.
Note: You can click on the each image to go see the Mercari listing, which includes more images of each envelope. 🙂
What do you think of them? As you can see… I genuinely like my own work… I have to keep myself from using them all up when I’m trying to sell them, haha! Some of these are (I know) a bit overpriced (i.e. the single envelopes); this is just because Mercari for whatever reason, won’t let me list anything for lower than $5… so… But when I have my own website, those will be sold less expensively. 🙂
I’m dying to know what you think of them! Please be sure to comment and let me know!
Yes, you read that right and I’m not crazy! David is our amazing cat, who is a girl…despite her name. The story behind that is actually quite simple: we thought she was a boy and named her David and loved the name and thought is was funny. Then we found out she was a girl, and decided to keep the name because it just made it that much funnier! It cracks people up all the time, which is awesome.
Anyway… she had kittens last week, and they are the most adorable kittens ever!! So, of course, I had to write a blog post about them and share their cuteness with you. 🙂
Their names (temporary names, since we’re not keeping all four!) are Larry, Harry, Henrietta, and Mary… and in that order, lol! We are hoping to keep Henrietta, whose full name is Henrietta Boffin, after a character in Charles Dickens’ Our Mutual Friend.
Aren’t they just the most adorable little things?! And David is a very good mamma. 🙂
What do you think is the best name for a kitten/cat ever? Do you have a cat?
See you all soon! Don’t forget– there’s a BIG surprise coming soon!!!
