Tolkien 2019

Yes, it’s true. I have stooped so low as to tell you that I am really looking forward to a movie. BUT I AM! Tolkien is coming out today, and I can’t wait to see it! (Tolkien is my favourite author, btw…) No, I’m not going to see it today 😦 …but I’m will be sure to write it a highly prejudiced review when I do see it! And hey–if you see it before me, let me know how it was! Only…don’t spoil it. 😀

Be sure to check out the trailer below! I’ve already watched it a gazillion times…

Love,

Elizabeth

Check out my poems based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s works! And in honour of the movie, for a limited time, you can download the pdf below. 😀

Breakable

Tremble softly, perhaps nothing will fall.
Only the inside of you will break-
but do not stir!  the whirlwind will return.
Tied down by chords invisible,
bruised by hurt invincible,
in my glass palace I lay.
Everything I touch is breakable,
my shaking has shattered my heart.
Slippery as ice and not half as nice,
the floors of my life trip me.
If I fall-it breaks.
Breakable, breakable.  Everything
is breakable.
And I walk fragile;
trembling.

A Blessing in Parting

Remember this as you journey on,

think of it while the day is long,

our loving Lord is always there,

to help you your troubles bear.

He’ll guide and show you,

the way that’s ever true,

through the darkness of your heart,

He will His tender grace impart.

Look ever to Him along the way,

and He’ll in evil ne’er let you stay,

when morning dawns upon your road,

you will with Him make your abode.

God willing we’ll meet again one day,

I’ll always pray that He’ll with you stay,

ever put your trust in Him,

and never in the prince of darkness grim.

In our Lord place all your faith,

and He’ll forever keep you safe,

behind each gloomy cloud,

comes the sun from it’s shroud.

Would I could walk with you!

But we’ll both share in life anew,

I trust at the end of the age,

we will in eternal life engage.

So hear this blessing from me now,

and remember to whom your knee does bow,

whether we meet on earth or in heaven,

our Lord will watch us here, as in heaven.

A Blessing in Parting

Family 022 (1 of 1)

As I draw near to the end of this tale;

as I read back on all the times I did try, yet fail,

and I all the days I did smile, and my heart grew steady, and hale,

I see how the hand of the Lord moves,

I see how his wonderful plan goes,

and it is a great lesson of trust in a time of need.

He is ever swift to listen and to hear;

He is ever speedy to answer the prayer,

and I realize that all through these tearful pages,

still my Lord was near.

Sometimes when things seem hopeless,

they are really a herald of hope,

for our Lord doesn’t simply help us cope,

but He gives us triumph over fear.

So with every tear you shed,

and every longing prayer whispered quietly in bed,

remember that the Lord is near;

He hears and knows your every fear,

He sees ever word you write,

and every repentant cry in the night.

Even the king’s heart is as water in His hand,

He knows the names of the stars,

and the numbers of the sand.

He knows the days ahead,

He sees the days behind,

so let your own words always you remind,

our Lord doth love, our Lord doth hear,

and the Lord ever in our hearts and our homes,

is near.

I See God Everywhere: My Favourite Works

I feel Your power in the wind,

I hear Your voice in the rain,

and it is enough to make tremble Satan’s bane.

I see Your might in the river,

I breath Your love in the air,

I can see you and your goodness everywhere.
